The origin of the word "psychology" may be traced back to the ancient Greek word "psyche," which can refer to either the spirit or the soul. This book was produced some time between the late 15th century and the early 16th century. It is believed that Steven Blankaart, writing in 1694 for The Physical Dictionary, made the first known usage of the word "psychology" in the English language. [Citation needed] According to the definition, "Anatomy, which treats the Body, and Psychology, which treats of the Soul," are two separate branches of study. Anatomy focuses on the physical body, whereas psychology investigates mental phenomena.
