An Introduction to the Norwegian Language

Elementary Norwegian Course Level A1 follows The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR).

As a beginner level course no previous knowledge of Norwegian is needed. However being familiar with the Latin Alphabet will be necessary.

Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.

Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.

Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

  Description An online course is a great way to learn a language, however if you just sit by yourself and don´t get feedback on your work and progress it´s hard to really succeed. You will sooner or later come to a point when you´ll need a tutor or teacher to help you out and guide you through some of the subjects covered in this course. This is why I offer several possibilities for interaction with me. First of all you can send me 5 minutes audio recordings using Audacity or any other recording software you might have. Make a recording of you reading the text and I´ll send you back an audio file with comments and hints on how to pronounce the text. It may also be questions concerning the content of the text as well as grammar. You can send an e-mail to henning.gustavsen@gmail.com and add your sound file as an attachment. You may also add me to your Skype contacts (Skype ID: henning55) if you like to pay for Skype lessons with me either 1 on 1 or in a group. More on this in the video.   DescriptionThe next course in this series will be Norwegian Language Course A1 Part 2. <a href="https://cutt.ly/Norwegian_Language_Course_A1_Part2"> As mentioned in the introduction, this course is following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In short this mean that by following this course and do the exercises pointed out you will be able to reach the level that is needed to take a formal exam in the Norwegian Language. This is necessary if you would like to live, study courses in Norwegian at Colleges and Universities or get work in Norway. My goal is to make all the courses from A1 to C1. At the end of B2 or the beginning of C1 you will reach the level that is required to take the Official Bergenstesten. It is however important that you practice speaking Norwegian. I recommend that you make recordings and send them to me in order for you to get correction on your pronunciation. I also offer group lessons at affordable prices that can help you a lot. Text writing is also important, though the Norwegian grammar is considered easy; getting hang of the sentence structure requires some practice.
